The Doodle Code
Understanding the Doodle Code (F1, F1B, F2, P)
F1 Doodle
- The result of crossing a purebred poodle with a purebred dog of another breed. (ex. bernese mountain dog with poodle.)
F1B Doodle
- The result of crossing an F1 doodle with a purebred of the other half. (ex. F1 bernedoodle with poodle or bernese mountain dog.)
F2B Doodle (or Multigenerational)
Result of crossing an F1 doodle with an F1B doodle. (ex. F1 bernedoodle with F1B bernedoodle)
Doodle temperment
Our puppies are highly intelligent and typically quite easy to train. They are naturally social and love to be around their people, though they can be wary of strangers at first. They have a moderate to high energy level, though it depends on the puppy and their parents. Knowledge of training, boundaries and mental stimulation is important for owners of doodles because of their high intelligence.
Doodle Coat/Grooming
Purebred
The result of breeding two Purebred Dogs. (ex. bernese mountain dog with bernese mountain dog)
Our puppies' coats will vary from straight to wavy, short. It depends on the actual puppy and which traits it inherited from its parents. There is no sure way to test exactly what their coat will do as they grow. It is certain, however that they will need grooming and clipping
